HCT returns to OCM. After a break of more then a year things started to itch and manager Boonstra began the search for some local sponsors to invest in his project.
There were plans to start all over again with a new name, new identity but after a long meeting it was decided to stick with HCT.
"It's hard to just leave it behind, we've put years of work in it. There's to much history to just throw it away. And everybody agreed on it. But don't think big. We're gonna have to start from scratch."
This raises some question's because when the team stopped the last time and all the riders got sold there was plenty of money.
"We had over a million cash, nice equipment and on paper still 9 riders. But its all gone and i'm still figuring it out where it all went."
The new local investors have put in about 100k and the old riders were released. Some new were hired and immediately send to do some publicity work.
Most important question remains. What are the goals?
"We're focusing on cobbles, just like we did when we first joined OCM. I already hired 3 decent cobble riders who can give us some easy results. And luckily i still had some contacts and through that i hired Eligiusz Marciniak, a nice cobble talent. All depends on his training progress. You can basically say that if he doesn't reach his full potential we're screwed. If he does reach high then we can look forward. But either way, getting back to the top, what we want, is going to be a long, long, long way."

Ok, didn't know cobbles are so populair now. Wasn't my plan at all to start with it but i saw i got 10 freescouts somehow and decided to do some scouting on the hirelist when i found Marciniak. Lets indeed hope for a high max ^^
Welcome back. Watch out cause cobbles has recently become trendy and quite a few teams have switched into this speciality. Anyway, good luck with training this Polish rider, hope he will be great and will join the National Team soon :-)
You again? I joke. Welcome back.
